The place looks like a grand one. A shame they don't build them like that anymore. Most of the ones like that here in town have been torn down, or like the Richford Arms, turned into housing for the elderly. During the late sixties, and early seventies most of the big hotels suffered and closed up shop when the stores and businesses in our downtown moved out to the suburbs. There has been a resurgence as of late, with new hotels being built in town. Like the one built on the Bay front on public lands, the cost for building being born both by private backers and monies from the State erected few years ago and another one currently under construction down there as well, which will include shopping and private residences. ( Condos ) Although there "nice" and would be considered up scale ( not for your average tourist ) They don't compare to the ones that we lost.

An after thought...my company doesn't hold Christmas parties. It'd be kind of silly to do so, being there are only six workers working here. The two brothers who own the property, are Jewish and not really into celebrating Christmas. Though they do give us very nice bonuses as gifts, on Thanksgiving as well as Christmas. I'd much rather get them than see them spend monies for a party.

My company doesn't have Christmas parties, and I've never been to one at a fancy restaurant. And a limo and a room? Who does your friend work for? Didn't you say she was single?

I've worked for some major league firms. Crazy opulent parties with all the bells and whistles, white gloved service, and open bars (back in the day). One co. rented the BELL Center here in Montreal... 5,000 of us listened to (I forget who... Lol) and partied in the fricken stadium. It was off the charts WILD! But the best company parties I've enjoyed were the small ones. 50 people in a resto in Old Montreal where we had the place to ourselves. That got slightly out of control, to say the least... Times have changed. These days, parties are pretty sedate.. Ahhh.. Have a great time girl! I'm making meatloaf. Does your company hold Christmas parties for it's employee's? I am my company Have they paid for a night's stay in a luxury hotel as well as dinner and a Limo? I always pay for my hotel and dinner - limo not-so-much. Do you attend your work Christmas parties or not? I attend every party I am at. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I have stayed in Banff Springs Hotel...but NO dinner or limo was included! Do you attend your work Christmas parties or not? We will attend the Mrs office party!

Hi Joy. thanks for taking me back to Toronto memories of 2002. that year the company I worked for treated some of us to a weekend in Montreal. I had so much fun. I had never been to Montreal and it was during the baseball season so I got to capture the NY Mets playing the Montreal Expos. Oh, how sweet that was... Plus, we did a white water event. And, they brought in a cirque du soleil act. I also visited a casino one night... On the Toronto side of things, I've eaten at that Benihana Japanese Steakhouse. If memory serves me correctly, it's like below the first floor. It's been a long time... but, I love teppanyaki... thanks for popping that memory back to me... Does your company hold Christmas parties for it's employee's? some of the companies I have worked for have gone all out for Christmas parties. Have they paid for a night's stay in a luxury hotel as well as dinner and a Limo? One company flew me to Pittsburgh to participate in their Christmas party. But, normally, I've not experienced that pleasure. Do you attend your work Christmas parties or not? I do attend them. Why not... I never turn down a free meal, with no strings attached. Some construction companies hold Christmas parties for the foremen...not the regular crews people...crew people sometimes get a turkey or nothing. Seen one company give the foremen a bottle of booze. Was a foreman for one company at Christmas time and got a $200 dollar bonus check...the foreman or bosses with that company use to get an increase on their bonus checks with each year they worked for the company..some checks well over a thousand dollars...mine was that one time...still that was great in my mind. What a night you are going to have...sounds fantastic....just this once "Queen Joy!"  We could turn that around "Joy Queen" fits you better
