 I'm old fashioned, seems too old fashioned for most, I guess. Am not into sexting or even a lot of sex chat in the beginning and definitely not into swapping off a lot of pics to begin with. I like getting to know the general things about the person and it will eventually work into the more intimate details as some time goes by, but definitely not in the very beginning.

 I can understand the appeal of cyber sex, it's a quick and easy fix for one's needs. I didn't actively seek it out, but it has happened a handful of times on this site.

I don't perform well with just words (chat or phone) so for me pictures are necessary. But after the first time, I have to say the pictures become... repetitive. There's no smell, taste, feel accompanying the visuals to trigger an enthusiastic response.

Also, once you 'sext' or 'phone sex' while anonymous, it's awkward meeting in person after the fact. So, my advice, if you are interested in actually meeting someone, refrain from sexting beforehand.

 I think dating and meeting means real in person meeting.
But I have confess that I have exchanged pics in the past or had light cyber or dirty talk. However dont go on sites to actively look for these

 Sexting that doesn't accompany actual meets, usually is a short term thing
- and can only go up to a certain point
Of course can relieve a momentary tension, but like you said its frail

 I've had the experience where the sexting was blazing hot {I was her Sir, she was my pet} but in person the chemistry just wasn't there. For me sexting strokes the same spot as written smut, but it needs to be well written. I've done enough writing in my life that bad writing makes me grind my teeth, and that's not one of my fetishes.

Noting wrong with exchanging pics, but it needs to grow from pic to more then pic, (phone call, meeting ....)
